Taking proper care of the baby's mouth is important for the child's physical health and mental peace. This care of the baby should start from birth. And along with the growing age of the child, dental care should be taken in full swing. In children's dental caries or caries, the condition of the teeth, the presence of bacteria and the consumption of sugary foods play a major role.
Oral bacteria called Streptococcus mutanum destroys the enamel of the teeth, leading to caries. Later, other bacteria joined it. When parents put babies to sleep with juice-filled feeders or bottles—it undoubtedly paves the way for tooth decay. Sugary foods kept in the mouth for long periods of time are largely responsible for causing tooth decay. In this regard, chewing gum is more harmful than the sugar in various soft drinks.
Caries or caries usually start at the tip of the molar teeth (inner teeth). If it is not stopped at this stage, it will penetrate deeper into the tooth. There is pulpitis, pus, inflammation in the gums and around the teeth. It can spread further and destroy adjacent teeth, touch the jawbone or enter the mouth and brain. The tooth damaged by this problem should be identified first. Medicines should be given for pain. Depending on how far the infection has spread, antibiotics may be given by feeding or by injection.
Resistance is real. It is very important to practice regular oral hygiene, brushing your baby twice every night and morning. Most importantly, don't use bottle feeders in your baby feeding routine.
